It has to be done now. I'm running out of time. I still go into the Lit and Phil every week but haven't had the chance to get my head down and do the research. Last week was the case of being interviewed for City Life and the Journal's Culture Mag, both out in March. Now people may think that's great, that's a great experience, you're going to be famous. But yes and no. Interviews are good in the sense that it gets what you're doing out there, reaching a wider audience. But the other side is that you can use interviews as a bench mark to illustrate what you know and the big gaping gaps that you don't know. Flagging up once more the lack of time to cover everything. But really I should not try to cover everything and I should continue what I am doing and concentrate on those things that I'm interested in. But then I feel as if I have a responsibility to present a full a picture as possible.
There are still some opportunities for you to get involved in the research as we move on to a Heritage Lottery Funded project which involves the mapping of places that have a contact with the slave trade and abolition. The aim is to eventually plot these sites into a trail. So if you're interested in helping out , get in touch with me via this site or through the Lit and Phil. As you know I need the help and would really appreciate it.
Until next month,
best
Sheree
